The Charter Oak Education Foundation presents check to the Charter Oak Unified School District

PRESS RELEASE

Charter Oak Education Foundation
June, 2017

The Charter Oak Education Foundation (COEF) presented the Charter Oak Unified School District (COUSD) with a check in the amount of $35,000 during the June 26, 2017 COUSD Board Meeting.

COUSD Superintendent Mike Hendricks met with the principals from each of our COUSD schools to determine how their portion of the COEF donation would best serve their students. Following is a list breaking down how each school will utilize the COEF donation:

  • Chromebooks – Badillo Elementary School
  • 3D Printer – Cedargrove Elementary School
  • MakerBots – Cedargrove Elementary School
  • STEAM Program – Glen Oak Elementary School
  • Chromebooks – Sunflower Campus
  • Chromebooks — Washington Elementary School
  • Chromebooks – Willow Elementary School
  • Lazer Cutter – Royal Oak Middle School
  • Lighting for the H.K. Baird Theater (specifically from donations received on Giving Tuesday)

This donation was made possible by annual COEF fundraising opportunities such as the Charter Oak Education Foundation Oak Tree Challenge 5K/1 Mile Run/Walk, and the Hall of Fame Dinner, as well as the financial contributions of the partners of the COEF who sacrificially give to the students within our COUSD community. These partners include faculty and staff within the COUSD who voluntarily contribute monthly from their personal salaries.
